Collaboration at its finest: The Dean's Advisory Council making strides in Fall 2022.

The COE Dean’s Advisory Council (DAC) is comprised of executive leaders in the field from industries that hire graduates of the college. The COE DAC meets twice per year: in-person in the fall, and virtually in the spring. In addition, each department in the college has its own advisory board specific to their disciplines. The charter of the DAC is four-fold:

Members of the DAC:

  • Advise the college on updates and directions of their company and industry, and any implications for the COE
  • Serve as an ambassador for our programs in their professional circles
  • Collaborate with the COE on projects of mutual interest to advance the college
  • Support and advise us on fundraising and other resource development efforts

In addition, the DAC is currently organized into three subcommittees, each working on special initiatives, meeting as needed outside of the plenary DAC meetings. The subcommittees are:

  • Diverse Pipeline – achieve gender, race, and ethnicity representation in student, staff, and faculty populations and an environment where all can thrive and reach potential
  • Internships – ensure all undergraduate students in the COE experience and learn from a paid internship experience in the field prior to graduation
  • Fundraising – enlist professional networks and contacts in support of fundraising mission of the college and its programs
