The College of Engineering graduate degrees offer a variety of programs designed to enhance your engineering career moving forward, while enabling you to confidently explore new STEM industries and opportunities. Our curriculum is relevant, timely and continuously adapts to address new social and economic challenges in a global context. We provide information on how to navigate COE MS disciplines and requirements needed (roadmaps, reports, advancing to candidacy, etc.), to successfully meet their graduation milestone.
CSULB also offers a doctoral program in partnership with the Claremont University in Engineering and Computational Mathematics.

Graduate Student Success Center
Whether you earned your bachelor’s degree at CSULB or elsewhere, the COE Graduate Student Success Center guides prospective and matriculated students from diverse backgrounds, throughout their MS collegiate career. The GSSC promotes collaborative advising and campus partnerships to ensure our students’ success in their academic goals.
The COE Graduate Student Success Center provides support to/for:
- Prospective and matriculated COE graduate students; general advising for all MS programs
- Matriculated MSCS students on degree progress (advancement to candidacy, etc.)
- Understanding requirements for planning and filing for graduation
- Comprehensive Exam vs Thesis
- One-on-one and group advising sessions, via BeachConnect
- Identify resources for degree to professional planning, as well as other campus resources
For in-depth review and advising concerning degree plan, please reach out to our GSSC team for assistance in creating a plan tailored to you and your graduation goals. We also offer drop-in advising via Zoom, and are available for quick questions, Tuesdays, 10:00 a.m. to noon. GSSC advising appointments can also be made through BeachConnect via MyCSULB. Please bring all questions here so we can assess your next steps and assist in meeting all of your collegiate and professional goals!

Contact the university Thesis and Dissertation Office for assistance. Theses must be turned into COE two weeks before the library deadlines.
