Engineering Tutoring

Take advantage of free peer tutoring to keep up your grades in challenging classes. Tutoring is available for undergraduate engineering students in Aerospace, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering, as well as Software Programs and Computer Science.

Starting Fall 2023, the COE Tutoring Center will offer drop-in and by-appointment tutoring in-person and virtually. Masks are strongly recommended for in-person services. Tutoring ends Monday, Dec. 11. Check this page for updates and schedules.

Individual appointments let you work 1-on-1 with a tutor at a prearranged time. Individual appointments are limited to a max of two hours per course per week or in consultation with the COE Tutoring Center.

In-person, drop-in and appointment-based tutoring is available in EN2-302D, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In general, tutors offer support for materials that have already been presented by the instructors during class.  Tutors can help students with their specific questions or work on ungraded practice problems.  For the most effective tutoring sessions, students must bring their notes, textbooks, course materials, and engage with the tutor through discussion and active problem solving participation. Tutors cannot work on any materials or problems for which students will receive a grade

If you would like to book an appointment, attend drop-in, or change between in-person and virtual meetings, please email, call 562-985-8609, visit the front desk in EN2-302D, or utilize the Self-Service Scheduling Guide via BeachConnect.

Cancellation and Missed Appointment Policy

No-shows and late cancellations inconvenience students who need timely access to tutoring.  We would like to remind you of our center’s policy regarding missed appointments.

Appointment Cancellations

Please cancel your appointment via BeachConnect or email at least 24 hours in advance if you’re unable to show up for an appointment so the time can be reallocated to someone else.

How to Cancel Your Appointment

Log in to BeachConnect, select your upcoming appointment on the right hand-side of the screen and follow the prompts to cancel your appointment, or email

Late Cancellations

If you don’t cancel your scheduled appointment at least 24 hours in advance, it will be considered a late cancellation. Multiple late cancellations will result in a 30-day hold on scheduling appointments.

No-Show Policy

A failure to be present for your scheduled appointment will be recorded in your academic record as a no-show. Multiple no shows will result in a 30-day hold on scheduling appointments.
