Registration for Spring 2022

**Important Notice**
At the recommendation of local public-health officials and out of an abundance of caution, CSULB will begin the spring semester on January 20 by offering remote instruction to students for the majority of on-campus classes, delaying  most  face-to-face instruction until Monday, February 7.  Students can  access their individual courses on Beachboard or look for emails from their instructors to  learn details about the delivery of instruction in each of their courses as the semester gets underway.

Students enrolled in face-to-face or hybrid off-campus classes will still need to follow the policies set forth by their off-campus sites. Students may connect with their internship, service learning, fieldwork, and/or teacher preparation coordinator for support.

Please review the Spring 2022 Schedule of Classes to find a course schedule that best fits your needs. As you register, please note the following:

  • Health and Safety: We will continue to follow public health guidelines for Spring 2022, which currently require vaccination (or weekly testing for those with exemptions) and wearing of face coverings indoors on campus. Check COVID-19 Info regularly for updates about health and safety guidelines at CSULB, including vaccination and testing requirements.
  • Off-Campus Fieldwork Classes: Some off-campus classes where students participate in fieldwork activities (for example, student teaching, clinical experiences, healthcare settings, and internships) may be at a location that requires COVID-19 vaccination due to state, local, or agency guidelines. To enroll, students must have uploaded their COVID-19 vaccination certification. (Students who cannot register due to this requirement can submit the COVID-19 Requisite Not Met for Off-Campus Class form.)
  • Changing from "Not on Campus": Students who attested that they would not be coming to campus in Fall 2021 need to re-submit their COVID-19 Student Vaccine Certification form on SSO in order to enroll in on-campus and off-campus face-to-face classes; hybrid classes; and/or hyflex classes for Spring 2022.

All students must have submitted their COVID-19 Student Vaccine Certification form via SSO in order to enroll in Spring 2022 classes.

Modes of Instruction

Note:Any on-campus classes that temporarily shifted to remote instruction at the beginning of the semester will revert back to their original mode of instruction beginning Monday, February 7. At that time, students will be expected to attend their face-to-face and hybrid classes in person. Faculty may not provide full semester flexibility for online learning but can be flexible for short-term shifts in the mode of instruction due to illness or quarantine/isolation requirements.

CSULB classes may be listed on the schedule as having one or more of the following formats available:

Modes That Require Proof of Vaccination or Weekly Testing (Due to Exemption)

  • Face-to-face on-campus: in-person class meetings at scheduled days and times on campus
  • Face-to-face off-campus: in-person class meetings at scheduled days and times at a community site
  • Hybrid with synchronous online: some face-to-face instruction and some synchronous (scheduled days and times) online class meeting
  • Hybrid with asynchronous online: some face-to-face instruction and some asynchronous (no scheduled meeting times) online components
  • Hyflex: enrolled in face-to-face instruction, meeting at scheduled days and times

Modes That Do Not Require Students to be On Campus

  • Synchronous online: all classes will be remote at scheduled days and times
  • Asynchronous online: no scheduled day and time, so students can complete work at different times throughout the week
  • Mixed online: all classes will be remote, with some meetings at scheduled days and times and some asynchronous work
  • Hyflex: enrolled in synchronous online instruction, meeting at scheduled days and times

After you enroll, continue to check your MyCSULB Student Center for class schedule updates. Hybrid and face-to-face classes require students to be on campus or community site.
