ITEP/ BA Information Session

Sophomore Workshops

First-Year Mandatory Advising (for all Fall 2023 new First-Time, First-Year)

Transfer Mandatory Advising (for all Spring 2024 new transfers)

All workshops dates/times will be sent out to eligible students via email. Some require RSVP. Please check the details below.

First-Time, First- Year (FTFY) who major in Liberal Studies (or intend to) are required to meet with an Academic Advisor in a Mandatory Advising Workshops during their first and second semester at CSULB.  Enrollment Services places a registration hold on all first-year Freshmen. To have this hold removed and be able to enroll for next term’s classes, students must attend a Freshmen Advising Workshop.

All new First-Time, First-Year Students will be contacted via email with registration information.

  • Thursday, March 14 from 1PM – 2PM in EED-17

First-Semester Transfers who major in Liberal Studies (or intend to) are required to attend an Advising Workshop during their first semester at CSULB.  Enrollment Services places a registration hold on all first-term Liberal Studies Transfer students’ accounts and to have this hold removed so that you may enroll for classes next term, students must attend a workshop.

ITEP/ BA workshops are meant for current Juniors who wish to know more in-depth information about the differences between ITEP and the BA pathway. An advisor will review how you can apply for ITEP MSCP. 

Highly recommended for students currently in their Junior Year. 

No RSVP Required.

Sophomore workshops are for students in their second year at CSULB or who have less than 50 units. The sophomore workshop will review what you must know as sophomores in order to make progress towards graduation. Topics covered include: 

- Declaring Major

- ITEP vs. BA differences. Testing & Credentials basics. 

- GPE/ GWAR

- SERVE & Clinical Practice

The workshop will take about 45 minutes, and allow for questions after the presentation. All attendees will receive an updated Liberal Studies Core Requirements Handout.
