Lopez, whose parents came to the United States from Mexico as young adults, is the first member of her family to go to college. 19 June, 2019 Meet Mary Stanton, College of Education Distinguished Alumna Mary Stanton is a tireless educator whose extensive career has impacted countless students and improved the institutions of California’s third-largest school district, Long Beach Unified.
