CCTE is the largest and most comprehensive forum for educator preparation in the state. 4 April, 2019 CED Alum Leigh Kokenes Named School Psychologist of the Year by NASP CED alumna, Leigh Kokenes (School Psychology ‘05) was just named School Psychologist of the Year by National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). (Hey Swedish Librarians!) Lesley Farmer Returns from Sabbatical in Sweden I was awarded a sabbatical this fall to work with school librarian educators at the University of Borås in Sweden. This university, which is located about an hour east of Gothenburg, offers the most extensive school librarian preparation in the country. I wanted to explore the school librarianship situation in Sweden first hand. 8 March, 2019 Dr. Jessica Pandya Receives University Achievement Award for Outstanding Faculty Impact Accomplishment in Research, Scholarly and Creative Activity Dr. Jessica Pandya, Department Chair, Liberal Studies has received the University Achievement Award from Academic Affairs for Outstanding Faculty Impact Accomplishment in Research, Scholarly and Creative Activity. 4 March, 2019 CED Grad Student Jennifer Montepeque Diaz Wins 1st Place at 31st Annual CSULB Student Research Competition College of Education graduate student, Jennifer Montepeque Diaz has won first place in Education at the 31st Annual CSULB Student Research Competition. 26 February, 2019 Dr. Jolan Smith Receives the Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award, Will Be Honored at AERA CED faculty, Dr. Jolan Smith, has been awarded the Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award for her work “Lessons Learned: Collaboration with School Psychologists within a Juvenile Detention Setting” conducted while a student. 22 February, 2019 CED Doctoral Student Angela Rodriguez Accepted as a Clark Scholar CED doctoral student Angela Rodriguez has been accepted as a Clark Scholar as part of the David L.
