CED Faculty & Students Give Four Presentations at Ed Tech Conference

CED faculty and students gave four presentations at a recent international conference of the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE), held in Las Vegas, NV in March, 2019.

Drs. Stephen Adams, Lesley Farmer, and Fabian Rojas (who recently received an Ed. D.in Educational Leadership) authored a paper concerning digital citizenship, and learning outcomes of teachers in an educational technology course that Dr. Adams taught as part of the Secondary Education Curriculum and Instruction Master’s degree with a concentration in Linked Learning.  The course is also part of the Master’s option in Educational Technology and Media Leadership and Special Class Authorization for Teacher Librarians. This research was supported by a grant awarded by the CSU Collaborative for the Advancement of Linked Learning with funding from the James Irvine Foundation.

Dr. Farmer additionally gave a presentation on optimizing Open Educational Resources (OERs) for education about Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

Dr. Ali Rezaei and Ms. Francine Vasilomanolakis (a recently retired Lecturer in Educational Technology and staff member of CSULB Academic Technology Services) authored a presentation regarding a survey of faculty use of active learning classrooms.

Ingrid Fossbråten, an international student from Norway and Master’s student in educational technology, gave a poster presentation on an educational technology platform she designed for K-12 teachers.
