CED Grad Student Jennifer Montepeque Diaz Wins 1st Place at 31st Annual CSULB Student Research Competition

College of Education graduate student, Jennifer Montepeque Diaz has won first place in Education at the 31st Annual CSULB Student Research Competition. A graduate student in the School Psychology program, Montepeque Diaz presented research from her master’s thesis, “Cebolla Que Hace Llorar, da Sabor a la Comida: Promoting College Enrollment for Latinas with Disabilities” which focuses on the successful transition from high school to college for this student population. Montepeque Diaz shares, “With my research I hope to identify not only the challenges that Latinas with disabilities encounter during their postsecondary education[al] pursuit, but also what factors facilitated it. All in efforts to inform how best to serve this population in promot[ing] their college enrollment.”
