CSULB College of Engineering Earns High Rankings in 2024 U.S. News and World Report

The CSULB College of Engineering continues to turn heads, securing it’s highest rankings ever in several categories in U.S. News and World Report’s annual rankings.  

The 2024 College Rankings Report by the cornerstone publication has CSULB ranked 20th in undergraduate engineering, 8th in civil engineering, 10th in computer engineering and 12th in electrical engineering, for schools that don’t have a PhD program.  

“While the USNWR rankings are not perfect, I am pleased to see the good work of our faculty and students being recognized by the engineering leadership in the country,” said Dean Jinny Rhee. “As far as I am aware, the College of Engineering has not placed in the top-20 before, and it is deserving of celebration.”   

These impressive rankings reflect the College of Engineering's commitment to excellence in education, research, and innovation. The college consistently produces well-rounded engineers who are well-prepared for the challenges of our modern world. It's no wonder that CSULB is a preferred choice for prospective engineering students. 

One of our most active departments, Civil Engineering and Construction Engineering Management has faculty pulling in millions of dollars in research funding, and students whose work leads the way in the classroom and at competitions.

By emphasizing hands-on learning, our computer engineers have the skills to design their own career paths, making it one of the best in the country.  

Our Electrical Engineering department stays successful by continuing to specialize in a wide array of areas: Controls, Automation and Robotics, Digital Signal Processing & Communications, Biomedical and Power & Energy, just to name a few. By offering a bachelor’s in Computer Engineering Technology and Electronics Engineering Technology, we continue to produce a diverse range of students.
