Short Stories
Join us to read and discuss a new selection of short stories. The short story is sometimes an under-appreciated art form. Characters must be established quickly and efficiently. The author must create tone, voice, style, atmosphere, point of view, and communicate an aspect of our human condition. Let’s see if the short stories we read meet the criteria.

Aging Well
We are going on a voyage of personal discovery. It has been a part of our life since birth. You and I are going to look at aging. We will look first at aging from a cultural perspective. Once we understand the culture of aging, we will try to answer the most important question: So what do we do with this gift of life and where do we go from here? We will explore productivity, health, personal philosophy, education, interpersonal relations, grief and joy, loves won and loves lost, and a lot more. We will discuss the price we pay for withdrawing from life and what we can gain by intense involvement in our own life experience and the life experiences of others. Then we will talk about the end of life, which is the intimate price we pay for having been brought into this journey in the first place, way back in time. Class limit: 25
