Dean's Welcome

Dear Colleagues, Students, and Partners:

It is an honor and privilege to join the College of Health and Human Services as your new Dean. I am truly excited to become part of this vibrant and dedicated community. I look forward to working alongside each of you as we continue to advance the mission and impact of the College.

I would like to begin by expressing my sincere appreciation to our Interim Dean Grace Reynolds-Fisher for her leadership and dedication this past year and the support she continues to provide during this period of transition. Her stewardship has been instrumental in maintaining the College’s strong foundation, and I am grateful for the care and commitment she has shown to our community.

The mission of this College, to- Cultivate a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes the success of diverse students, faculty, and staff through high impact student-centered learning, innovative research and scholarship, and service that improve the quality of life and holistic wellbeing of all the communities - is both meaningful and essential. I am inspired by the commitment to excellence, innovation, and service that defines our community, and I am eager to support and build upon it.

As I begin this role, I am currently in a period of transition (including moving cross country) and learning. I appreciate your patience as I take the time to listen, engage, and better understand the people, programs, and priorities that make the College so special.

My approach is rooted in collaboration, communication, transparency, and mutual respect. I look forward to connecting with everyone and hearing your perspectives as we work together to shape a future that reflects our collective strengths and aspirations.

Thank you for the warm welcome I continue to receive. I am excited about what we will accomplish together.

With appreciation/Go Beach!
