The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement Council

Mission

The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Community Engagment Council is a partnership of alumni, students, and faculty working together to strategically and intentionally promote a culture of anti-racism and inclusivity within the Department of Physical Therapy and health equity within our community and profession.

Goals

  1. Promote a consistent culture of inclusivity, belonging, and anti-racism among faculty, staff, and students.
  2. Promote the recruitment, retention, mentorship, and advancement of a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.
  3. Advance opportunities for community engagement and outreach to promote social equity in our local and global community.
  4. Prepare physical therapists to provide exceptional care for patients of all identities, experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives.
