The National institute on aging is accepting applications for the 2020 NIA Butler-Williams Scholars Program. The Butler-Williams scholars program gives junior faculty and researchers new to the field of aging a unique opportunity to engage with other researchers interested in the field of aging, learn about NIA science, discuss funding opportunities with NIA staff, and sharpen grant writing skills.
Scholarship for Health and Independence of Seniors 
Ten Cal State Long Beach students from the College of Health and Human services were selected to receive scholarships of $5,000  each. The scholarships were created courtesy of the SCAN Health Plan and were awarded in collaboration with the Center for Successful Aging at Cal State Long Beach. Opportunities for Interns Supporting research and grant writing development Networking with community-based organizations, healthcare providers, and government agencies Coordinating community outreach Mission The Center fosters interdisciplinary applied research, supports program evaluation, and promotes education on aging as a means to carry out our vision of reducing disparities and promoting well-being in diverse communities.
