Brian Trung Lam

Dr. Brian Lam has an extensive background in the issues surrounding acculturation, and the developmental needs of Vietnamese-Americans. Dr. Lam’s interests are in social work research with a cross-cultural study of children's and adolescents' psychosocial development. His present research focus on ethnic identity, acculturation, family functioning, and community influences on psychological distress, as well as behavioral issues among adolescents from racially marginalized populations. His articles appear in the International Journal of Behavioral Development, International Journal of Intercultural Relations, and the American Journal of Orthopsychiatry. He teaches in the areas of Social Work practice, thesis projects, research in Social Work, and conflict resolution.
