A select team comprised of Faculty Champions Dr. Stacy Griffin, Dr. Jonathan O’Brienand Dr. Nina Wooldridge, along with CED Technology Integration Specialist Cody Arnold, and College of Education Associate Dean Dr. Laura Portnoi have developed college-level faculty professional development opportunities for Alternative Modes of Instruction for the upcoming fall semester. Meant to complement the university-level professional development offerings, the CED Professional Development Series is designed to feature short and tightly-focused sessions on technology tools and pedagogy for instructors teaching both synchronously and/or asynchronously online. Dovetailed into the college’s professional development efforts are Faculty Leaders from each College of Education department who will be working more directly on department-specific professional development on content areas. These department leaders will also be offering group or one-on-one coaching to fully support faculty instruction in alternative modes.

Additional professional development opportunities offered at the university level and are longer, more sustained sessions designed to support faculty as they transition to alternate modes of instruction.
