Teacher Education

The Department of Teacher Education (TED) is home to a dynamic community of faculty who are deeply committed to equity-minded and socially just approaches in teacher preparation and ongoing professional development. Our work proudly aligns with the College of Education’s vision to lead in the field of urban education.

TED faculty are scholar-practitioners who conduct innovative, impactful research that directly informs their teaching. We collaborate closely with community and district partners to ensure that what we teach reflects and is responsive to the realities of today’s classrooms. At the heart of it all, faculty are committed to putting students first, designing what we teach and how we teach it to reflect their lived experiences, needs and aspirations.
