Class of 2022 Spotlights: Healthcare Administration

Published May 11, 2022

The Health Care Administration department features a strong core of courses in the essential functions of management, with electives that allow students to pursue interests such as the specialized site of care courses in long term care administration, hospital management, managed care, and medical group practice management.

While we commend and celebrate all CHHS graduates, here is a fellow graduate whose story stood out because of their determination to overcome challenges, to follow their dreams, and to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

Michelle Villalobos: B.S. Health Care Administration, Finance Minor

As a first-generation college graduate and Latina, Michelle Villalobos felt that it was important to choose a career path that would help her give back to the community. Through her academic career as a Health Care Administration major, Michelle has had the opportunity to work behind the scenes in achieving community health and management. Michelle views her time at CSULB as a stepping stone for the change she hopes to make for the Latino community, and her main goal is to break down barriers and make healthcare accessible for all.

The most important thing Michelle learned during her time at CSULB was drive and passion. Within the classroom, she was able to meet people with the same goal and passion to help their community while also having the opportunity to speak with professors who had the knowledge and experience to help reach this goal.
