DR. YU YANG

Dr. Yu Yang joined the CSULB Department of Chemical Engineering as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2016. He received a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from University of Alberta in 2011 and worked as a postdoctoral scholar at University of Alberta and Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2011 to 2015. His research focuses on the application of process control and optimization theories for large-scale and complex chemical processes and systems. His research interests include experimental and computational approaches for chemical process design, simulation, control, and operations. His process optimization research has been patented and BP applied it to its refinery scheduling and planning systems.
