CEEE Awarded $400,000 For CSU HSI-STEM Program Evaluation

The College’s newly established Center for Evaluation and Educational Effectiveness (CEEE) was recently awarded a $400,000 contract by the U.S. Department of Education to conduct a summative evaluation of the implementation and impact of the 7 HSI-STEM programs in the CSU on student learning and success. The evaluation, conducted in partnership with the CSU Office of the Chancellor and the CSU campuses (including CSULB), is the first attempt to take a comprehensive view of the outcomes and impact of these high-profile programs and will provide a foundation for future studies of this kind. The year-long evaluation is being directed by Avery Olson (EDLD faculty) and overseen by center leadership (Anna Ortiz, Don Haviland, and Alejandra Priede).
