Petitions and Deadlines

Appeal Process

The Single Subject Program petition procedure is outlined on the Single Subject website.

Students should meet with the Single Subject Advisor to discuss the petition and supporting documentation.  Once completed, petitions from candidates in the Social Science credential require a signature from the Social Science program coordinator.  Petitions must be submitted seven days prior to the Petition Committee meeting.

Deadlines

The SSCSSP encourages students who plan to apply to the program or to student teach to remain apprised of university and program deadlines by listening attentively at program information meetings and by checking the Single Subject Program page for program meetings and upcoming deadlines.

To apply for student teaching, applicants must show either official CSET passing results or, if they are in the subject-matter waiver program, have until the beginning of student teaching to pass waiver coursework and submit relevant transcripts.  Students should remember that the CSET exams are administered on a limited basis.  Therefore, students should schedule their tests well in advance of deadlines.  Students must present official passing results for all subtests to the Social Science Credential Coordinator to apply for student teaching. Additionally, students in 300S should note that CTC clearance may take time, so they should apply early in the semester.
