Academic Interventions for Struggling Students
(Reading/Writing or Math)
One-on-one academic assessment and intervention sessions are available in the Fall for children requiring intense intervention in the areas of reading/writing or math. Our tutors (i.e., advanced graduate students) provide evidence-based interventions that are individually administered to your child. These interventions are based on the curriculum-based assessments that our tutors administer to your child in order to determine your child's academic skills. Sessions are tailored to help children make demonstrable progress toward critical academic goals in order to achieve success in school. A final report that details the assessment results, your child's responsiveness to intervention, and recommendations for future academic interventions is provided.
- Cost: The cost of Reading/Writing tutoring is a total of $250 for individual, one-hour sessions.* ( approximately 16 one-on-one tutoring sessions and one parent conference detailing the assessment results).
- Ages: This service is provided for clients ages 6 to 17 years old.
- When: Reading/writing/math services are offered once a year during the Fall. Additional Math services are offered during the summer. For specific dates and times, please visit our "Services" page and scroll down to see our Clinic flyer.
Admittance: Our Clinic strives to serve children in need of intense academic interventions, as demonstrated by below proficiency on recent CST scores or poor academic performance in the given subject. When applying, please be sure to include current CST scores or Teacher Reports which indicate below average performance. Although we accept applications year-round, if you are interested in receiving these services for the current year, the best time to submit an application is one month before the start date. Admittance is based on first-come, first-served basis and the level of need.
