Listed below are some available test prep options for some of the CTC required assessments for the Credential Programs. Contact the Teacher Preparation Advising Center if you have any questions.

The following websites have free or low cost online courses in the subject areas covered on the CSET exam. Use these websites to review specific content areas for the exam.

Khan Academy - www.khanacademy.org

Many subject areas covered in easy to understand video formats. Free

MIT OpenCourseWare - www.ocw.mit.edu

MIT offers many of the same lectures regularly presented on their campus free online.

Carnegie Mellon Open Learning Initiative - www.oli.cmu.edu

Mixed media online course in STEM subject areas and some world languages. Some content may have fees associated.

The College of Education is offering a FREE RICA preparation workshop for CSULB Multiple Subject, Education Specialist or Urban Dual Credential current students and alumni preparing to take the RICA Examination.

Cracking the CalTPA

The Free Cracking the CalTPA Workshops are open the candidates currently student teaching in the Education Specialist, Multiple Subject, Single Subject and Urban Dual Credential Programs at CSULB.  The workshops give an overview of the CalTPA cycles as well as some tips and pointers to use when completing your assessment.   The CalTPA Cycle 1 & 2 workshops are only open to current CSULB student teachers. 

Notifications of the workshops will be sent to all active student teachers once dates are finalized each semester. 

CalTPA Tech Support Workshop

The CalTPA Tech Workshops assist students in clipping their video components for upload to the Pearson platform for CalTPA Cycle 1 and Cycle 2. Candidates should contact ced-tech@csulb.edu for an individual appointment for assistance. Be sure to bring your videos with you to the appointment for assistance in clipping and uploading.
