Jamie Newman, MPH, RT (R)(M)(BD)

Jamie Newman has worked in healthcare for the past 26 years. Currently, the is the Deputy Chief Experience Officer for the VA Long Beach Healthcare System. Responsibilities include Voluntary and Hospitality services, Patient Advocacy, patient satisfaction survey data, including the collection, analysis, and related process improvement initiatives. 

Ms. Newman’s healthcare career has been molded by working with the private, non-for profit, and for four government agencies. To teach she draws from experiences in front line clinical care, management, safety and fatality investigation, strategic planning, emergency management, process improvement facilitation, and leadership. She has been involved in public health program development as a member of the Didi Hersh Advisory Board for Military Families are Resilient program, speaker at radiology symposiums, and adjunct lecturer for the University of Southern Mississippi, Public Health Department.  

  • Master of Public Health degree with an emphasis in Health Care Administration, University of Southern Mississippi Hattiesburg 
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health, University of Southern Mississippi Gulfport 
  • Licensed radiology technologist maintaining two specialties in mammography and bone density, The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist  
  • Associate of Applied Science in Diagnostic Imaging Technology, Community College of the Air Force
