Peer Mentor Resources for Students

Published September 23, 2021

There are several peer mentor services across the university and College of Education. Below is a selection of peer mentorship groups dedicated to assisting CED students as they navigate their time on campus.

Liberal Studies Peer Mentors

Liberal Studies Peer Mentors are student representatives specifically associated with the Department of Liberal Studies. They provide a wide range of services to fellow students as well as assistance to professional advisors. Liberal Studies peer mentors offer assistance with academic planning, scholarship and credentialing applications, e-advising tools, and much more. More information on the College of Education's Liberal Studies Peer Mentors.

Graduate Peer Mentors

The College of Education's Graduate Peer Mentors support current graduate students in the College through virtual events, office hours, community building, and professional development programs. The Graduate Peer Mentors want to provide all CED graduate students with resources and events that will help make their experience the best here at CSULB. More information, including office hours is available on the Graduate Peer Mentors page.

Caminos Project Peer Mentors

The Caminos Learning Community Peer Mentorship Program is available to help students succeed by providing tutoring, assisting with course searches, adjusting schedules, keeping track of and sending reminders for academic deadlines, and offering professional/academic/personal support throughout students' academic journeys. More information about this peer mentorship program can be found at Caminos Project’s Peer Mentorship.

Counseling & Psychological Services Beach Buddy Graduate Peer Mentors

The College of Education’s two graduate peer mentors serve in the Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) Beach Buddy program. Beach Buddy Peer Mentors work to create a culture and climate that acknowledges individual differences, de-stigmatizes mental health, and increases the likelihood of seeking support networks. Students can find their services online.
