Guidance for Newly Admitted Spring 2022 College of Business (COB) Students

Congratulations on your admission to CSULB and the College of Business!

To facilitate your admission and ensure a smooth transition into the university and to the College of Business (COB), all newly admitted COB students will be meeting with the COB advising team for Advising and Registration during the month of December. An advising registration hold has been placed on your first-semester registration until this Advising & Registration requirement is met.  Please carefully review the steps below.

Three Required Steps

To have the registration hold released and transition successfully into the College of Business, newly admitted COB students are required to complete three steps:

  1. Accept CSULB Admission by December 1, 2021. All newly admitted spring 2022 students are required to accept admission before meeting with a COB advisor for Advising & Registration. In addition, students must submit their intent to attend and pay the non-refundable enrollment deposit. Please go to your student portal to accept admission MyCSULB Student Portal
  2. Virtual Mandatory Advisement & Registration with the COB advising team between December 9-16. Newly admitted College of Business (COB) students are required to meet virtually with the COB Academic Advising team for Advising & Registration. In late November/early December, you will receive an email from the College of Business Center for Student Success (COB Advising Center) with further details for your Advising & Registration. Be sure to check your CSULB email frequently.  You will be invited to schedule a time to meet virtually with the COB Advising team between December 9-16.
  3. Virtual Student Orientation with the SOAR office in January. As a new CSULB student, you are also required to complete CSULB’s university-wide orientation requirement through the SOAR office. Learn more about SOAR and how to sign up for your SOAR orientation.
