For the latest information on payment deadlines, policies, and resources, select a topic below:

Fees are either due 30 days from registration or by the pre-semester payment deadline. Students are typically assigned a payment due date at the time of class registration. Late registration fees may apply once the semester has begun.

For the latest payment schedules and information about when to pay your fees, visit Tuition and Fees: Payment Deadlines.

Common payment methods include:

  • Check or Money Order
  • E-Check (Electronic Check)
  • Payment Plans
  • Credit Card
  • Foreign Currency
  • Third Party Payments

Students may also enroll in a payment plan, have financial aid awards, or be a part of an assistance program to help make tuition and fee payments. View instructions and resources via Tuition and Fees: Payment Methods.

The university automatically generates refunds two weeks after census, which is approximately 6 weeks after the start of the semester. If you drop all classes prior to the first day of instruction or drop from full time to part time on or prior to the last day of self-service registration you may submit an Application for Refund of Fees.

Explore the refund schedule, learn about university tuition policies, and more via Tuition and Fees: Refunds.

There are various forms of financial aid opportunities that are available to students depending on eligibility. Remember, your financial aid package will always align with your unit load (for example, if you drop a class and have 6 units of coursework vs. 9 units, this may impact your financial aid amount as you will move from being considered a full-time-student to a part-time student). If your financial or educational situation changes after you have applied for aid, you may apply for an appeal.

Available aid programs may include, but are not limited to:

  • Scholarships
  • Federal Grants
  • State Grants
  • CSULB Grants
  • Federal Student Loans
  • Federal Work-Study

The CSULB Financial Aid and Scholarships team is here to support you with resources and tools that may help you apply for aid and fund your educational goals. Learn more via Financial Aid and Scholarships.
