Office of the Dean
The College of Business (COB) at California State University, Long Beach engages and innovates in ways that make a positive impact our communities—within the college, across the university, and throughout the Los Angeles and Orange County region. Our undergraduate and graduate students receive high-quality education in the classroom and add value the minute that they step into their jobs. COB plays a significant role in enhancing LA-OC economic vitality while helping our graduates build great careers and secure lifestyles for their families and loved ones.
Our faculty members are current in their fields and employ leading-edge pedagogies. COB continues to renew and invest in faculty, our most precious asset. From 2009 to 2019, 32 new tenure-track faculty members joined the COB team from prestigious universities such as Carnegie Mellon, Claremont, London School of Economics, University of California Los Angeles, University of Michigan, and University of Southern California.
COB provides many resources that extend the classroom and equips students with the communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills employers look for in their employees. The Center for Student Success advises and improves graduation rates while Instructional Technology supports classroom and faculty technology needs. The Ukleja Center for Ethical Leadership and Student Center for Professional Development provide ethical training and soft skills that are not covered in traditional academic programs.
At the graduate level, COB offers MBA degrees in Day, Evening, and Saturday formats to match the needs of working professionals, international students, and others seeking graduate business degrees. Future plans include MS degrees in Finance, Information Systems, and Marketing, as well as a fully online MBA program. Our approach to graduate business education is to provide flexibility, convenience, and high value to those seeking to take their careers to the next level.
Excellence is our ultimate goal. COB is one of 820 business schools in 53 countries out of 16,000 worldwide accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International. For ten consecutive years, Princeton Review lists COB as one of the nation’s best business schools. CEO Magazine ranks our MBA program as 29th in North America. In 2015, NerdWallet ranked COB 12th in the nation on list of the 100 best business schools for undergraduate education.
COB engages our students, alumni, and friends in ways that enhance career success and regional economic vitality. We are committed to preparing future business leaders for California, the nation, and the world.
