Christine Kleinpeter

Dr. Kleinpeter is a professor at California State University, Long Beach School of Social Work. She is licensed in psychology and clinical social work and has over 10 years of clinical experience in a variety of inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings. Her teaching interests are in clinical practice, human behavior, and mental health. She is a trainer in Motivational Interviewing and has trained many social service professionals, probation workers, child welfare workers, and corrections officers. She has served as the Associate Director and Coordinator of Academic Programs and Coordinator of the Distance Education Program. She has supervised both MFT Interns and Social Work Associates toward licensure with the Board of Behavioral Sciences in California.

She has conducted research in the areas of drug court outcomes, co-occurring drug court outcomes, college mental health outcomes, distance education, and surrogate parenting.
