Susan Salas

Professor Salas has considerable social work practice experience in the area of community mental health with children and families as well as Latino mental health. Professor Salas has also taught undergraduate and graduate seminars in the CSULB School of Social Work since 2004.  She has expertise in developing field education training programs and curriculum development. She currently serves as the CalSWEC Title IV-E field consultant for our full-time graduate-level student awardees. 

Professor Salas' macro interests include social policy and legislative change including her active involvement in the coordination of CSULB's participation in the annual NASW Legislative Lobby Days weekend.  She is actively involved in the Southern California Native American Community advocating for Native American cultural and spiritual rites including the preservation of sacred sites.
