Patricia Real named District Teacher of the Year
CSULB Education Specialist Program Intern, Patricia Real, was recently named District Teacher of the Year for the Paramount Unified School District, the district that she grew up in and now teaches at. Ms. Real has been teaching students with special needs for the past 7 years, and believes that adopting a team approach and "pushing her students to achieve unthinkable odds together” leads to their success. Her principal, Kevin Longworth describes her this way, "Ms. Real is a professional who dedicates her time to help students succeed. She participates in numerous school-wide and district-level activities and committees, and she takes ownership for the success of everything she is involved with. She is driven to ensure that students meet their goals no matter what obstacles they face."
