Get Down to Business – COB Day 2023

Get Down to Business – COB Day

A welcome event for newly admitted College of Business undergraduate students.

On Tuesday, January 17 the College of Business (COB) once again hosted “Get Down to Business – COB Day” for newly admitted undergraduate Business students. COB Day is co-hosted by the Center for Student Success (COB Advising & Tutoring), the Student Center for Professional Development (SCPD) and Internships, Ukleja Center for Ethical Leadership, and Associated Business Students Organizations Council (ABSOC).

"Get Down to Business - COB Day", is a welcome event intended to showcase the College of Business with the goal of directly connecting new students to the various resources and opportunities offered through the College of Business. Most importantly, it is an opportunity for new students to begin networking and connecting with COB student organizations, student leaders, and their peers.

During the event, students received a warm COB welcome from Dean Solt and Associate Dean Reddy and also heard from COB’s department chairs about academic opportunities within each of their respective departments. Students also learned about SCPD and UCEL’s unique co-curricular opportunities.

ABSOC president Jose Raya Perez along with ABSOC Executive Vice President Jimena Palacios rounded out the list of speakers and shared the benefits of being active in student organizations while encouraging hew students to start getting involved early to get the most out of their undergraduate college experience.

The culminating experiences for the day were COB building tours and COB’s Student Organizations and Resource Fair where all COB affiliated student organizations and COB resource offices were in attendance to welcome and recruit new COB students. Additionally, offices such as TRIO Student Support Services were available to share with students about their program and their available services.
