Venetta Campbell
Dr. Venetta Campbell is an interdisciplinary educator and leader who brings an intersectional perspective to higher education, wellness, and corporate governance. She holds a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, and double degrees from U.C. Berkeley (BS, MSW). Her academic and professional experiences in social work and psychology provide a rich foundation for higher education leadership, clinical practice, administration and training, and policy formulation practice.
Dr. Campbell is a Teaching Professor at the California State University Long Beach School of Social Work (CSULB). She provides graduate and undergraduate academic instruction (e.g., Thesis Research Curriculum Development and Grant Writing Projects, and Human Behavior and the Social Environment). She is a devoted instructor and mentor. Understanding and serving students from an intersectional lens is critical to ensure academic success and overcome significant barriers such as mental distress, traumatic loss, basic needs, insecurity, and work/family integration. Her teaching and training objectives are to facilitate students’ preparation as culturally competent change agents and transformative leaders within the profession. Books serve as the “key to the future.”
Dr. Campbell’s academic background in behavioral health fuels her passion for wellness. She is the CEO & Founder of Vetony Enterprises, a Corporate Wellness Consultancy (www.vetony-enterprises.com) She has a track record of accomplishments in corporate wellness services within higher education, small business, and nonprofit organizations. She provides consultation regarding workplace stress management strategies, workforce development, and transition management. She strives to create a positive and purposeful environment for wellness.
Dr. Campbell believes in giving back to the community and her collective experiences have made a positive impact on equitable educational and social policy initiatives at the local, regional, and statewide levels. She currently serves as Board Trustee for the U.C. Press Foundation and Commissioner for the State Bar of California. She is the former President, of the CSULB President’s Commission on the Status of Women, President, WomenShelter Long Beach, and Co-Chair, U.C Berkeley School of Social Welfare Alumni Advisory Board.
