Data Fellows 2022 Update

CHHS is one of eleven chosen teams for the 2021-2023 Data Fellows Program. The team will be examining student success factors associated with the Long Beach Promise. 

This topic connects to both the University Beach 2030 strategic priority “Diversity is our Strength” as well as the college priority,  “Designed Culture and Climate”.

This is a huge undertaking that started during the 2020-21 academic year. In 2021, the team provided a snapshot of the current state of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in our college and started a focused investigation into how college policies specifically impact Black students. The team used existing institutional data to analyze CHHS diversity and understand attrition in our college through the lens of race and ethnicity.

This work will be used to advance DEI in all areas of CHHS, including informing a change in recruitment/outreach, student advising, and curriculum and college policies.
