Ed.D. Alumna's Latest Work on the Seal of Biliteracy

College of Education alumna, Dr. Alma Castro’s (Ed.D. ’14) latest work has been published in The Seal of Biliteracy Case Studies and Considerations for Policy Implementation. This edited volume explores the Seal of Biliteracy, a policy initiative that awards high school students proficient in two or more languages. Dr. Castro’s chapter, “Validating the Linguistic Strengths of English Learners: Los Angeles Unified School District’s Implementation of the Seal of Biliteracy” builds upon her CSULB doctoral dissertation and her research interests in expanding multilingualism programs and competency, and building capacity in teachers and administrators to support and provide English language learners an equitable education.
