Three alumni from the Cal State Long Beach School Counseling program have been selected as emerging leaders for the California Association of School Counselors (CASC). The CASC School Counseling Emerging Leader Program aims to identify and nurture potential leaders within the school counseling profession in California.

The three alumni are:

  • Bailey Adling, ’22, elementary school counselor, Fountain Valley Unified School District
  • Julaina Juarez, ’23, high school counselor, Los Angeles Unified School District
  • Fedelia Suleiman, ’22, elementary school counselor, Santa Ana Unified School District

"We are immensely proud to see our alumni being acknowledged as emerging leaders by the California Association of School Counselors," said Associate Professor Caroline Lopez-Perry. “The CASC School Counseling Emerging Leader Program offers a unique opportunity for these individuals to enhance their leadership skills and engage in meaningful projects that contribute to the betterment of the school counseling profession in California.”

As part of this program, the alumni will have access to various leadership opportunities provided by CASC.
