Welcoming the SCPD JMP Fall Cohort
The Journey Begins:
On September 18, the Student Center for Professional Development's (SCPD)Junior Mentoring Program (JMP) officially launched its Fall 2026 Cohort with an engaging and interactive Orientation designed to help students build connections, set goals, and prepare for a successful mentoring experience. The orientation provided an opportunity for students to meet their fellow participants through a series of icebreaker activities aimed at fostering community and building relationships from the very beginning of the program. As students got to know one another, they also learned about the many resources and professional development opportunities available through SCPD.
A key component of the orientation focused on helping students establish meaningful goals for the semester. Participants learned how to create SMART goals for their mentoring agreements that will help guide their growth throughout the program. These goals will serve as a foundation for productive conversations and intentional development with their mentors in the months ahead. SCPD looks forward to seeing this year's JMP participants build meaningful relationships, develop new skills, and make the most of their mentoring journey.
