Details of the SCPD Award
- This award recognizes a student who has shown outstanding achievement within the areas of academia, professionalism, and personal growth while attending California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). Applicants must document their experience as a College of Business (COB) student and member of the Student Center for Professional Development (SCPD). Documentation of activities can include on and off-campus experiences and how experiences and skills gained through SCPD programs enabled their overall development.
- Additional factors to be evaluated include: academic success, leadership in student organizations/SCPD, participation in civic or volunteer activities, achievements in other personal endeavors, demonstrated effort to develop or improve professional skills, and obtaining an internship or part-time/full-time job.

Important Requirements to Note
Required Items:
- Application
- Headshot Picture (this photo will be used on the SCPD website)
- Written Essay (Requirements: titled paper, 12-point font Times New Roman, 1-inch margin, double-spaced and no more than 3 pages long)
- Eligible applicants must be enrolled as a student in Spring 2026.
Optional Item:
- One testimonial from a staff member, faculty, mentor, employer, civic leader, or business professional will be helpful to the applicant’s case.
Award: $1,000
- The winner will receive a $1,000 award and be recognized on the SCPD website and social media platforms.
