Director Bio
We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Alicia Minor as the new Child and Family Center Director in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. Dr. Minor comes to us with over 20 years of Director experience, including 7 years as a Center Director at UCLA Early Care & Education. Dr. Minor earned a Doctor of Education Degree in Organizational Leadership at Concordia University and a Master of Education Degree in Curriculum & Instruction/Early Childhood Special Education. She is also a CSULB alumna, earning a Bachelor of Art Degree in Child Development.
Dr. Minor prioritizes a collaborative leadership model. She believes in relationship-based programming and learning by doing, which will be a service to students training to be teachers, staff, children, and their families. Construction of the new center is planned for completion in fall 2025, and we aim to open the Center in spring 2026. In the meantime, we look forward to Dr. Minor developing a plan for reopening the Center that builds upon its strong history of training our student teachers while serving the CSULB community!
