Internships

The Center for Health Equity Research, in partnership with Beauty For Ashes Wellness, is excited to launch a Doula Training Program that combines classroom learning with paid, hands-on experience. Selected students will complete a hybrid 3-week foundational training before transitioning into a compensated field placement, where they will provide direct support to birth and postpartum clients across the Greater Los Angeles area. Students will be paid $17-20 per hour and work up to 10 hours each week. The program will begin in December and end in May, providing participants with valuable training, real-world experience, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in their community.

 

To be considered for this program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • Current CSULB undergraduate or graduate student
    • With an expected graduation date of Spring 2027
  • Aspiring birth, postpartum, or community doula
  • Experience working in diverse, underrepresented, or high-need populations
  • Students in Nursing, Public Health, Social Work, Health Science or other related fields
