- Social and economic factors in chronic musculoskeletal pain
- Pain equity and chronic pain with broader interests in health equity, intersectionality, disability studies and trauma informed care
- Worked as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Washington State before coming to The Beach, and brings a career that bridges clinical practice with policy and systems-level research

- 10 years of practice experience in schools providing trauma-focused care
- Use of interpretivist qualitative methods and participatory action research to work with people whose epistemologies have been silenced or discounted by academia.

- Exploring how structural and systemic inequities (e.g. structural racism, anti-immigration discrimination) may inform the mental health and well-being of immigrant individuals and families
- Deepening understanding of acculturation and ethnic-racial identity developmental processes among immigrant adolescents and young adults
- Received her undergraduate degree from USC, and then went across town to get her MSW and PhD at UCLA!

- Black trans feminist and anti-oppressive social work scholarship that advances liberation and healing through relational approaches to wellbeing
- Qualitative, arts-based, and community engaged research that centers on lived experience to transform social work practice, policy and mental health equity

- Interdisciplinary health economist and health care management scholar
- Research examines how financing policy and consolidation in health care markets affect access to care and health outcomes, with a particular focus on Medicaid and Medicare beneficiaries and historically underserved communities
- Holds a PhD in Health Services Research and a Master's in economics from Brown University as well as an MPH/MBA from Johns Hopkins University

- 15 years of expertise as a Health AI researcher, professor, and healthcare IT domain leader
- Holds a Master's degree in Healthcare Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University, and both a Master's and Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCLA
