JMP Mixer Strengthens Connections and Community

Published October 22, 2026

The Student Center for Professional Development (SCPD) recently hosted its Junior Mentoring Program (JMP) Mixer, bringing together student mentees and mentors for an evening of networking, relationship-building, and professional development. The event provided students with the opportunity to participate in multiple rounds of structured networking designed to help them build meaningful connections with mentors and fellow participants. As conversations progressed, students became increasingly comfortable engaging with one another, creating an energetic and welcoming atmosphere throughout the evening. One of the highlights of the mixer was the strong involvement of SCPD alumni and returning mentors who volunteered their time to support the next generation of business students. Their willingness to share experiences, advice, and encouragement helped create a supportive environment, particularly for students who were attending a networking event for the first time. By the end of the evening, participants had expanded their networks, gained valuable insights, and taken important steps toward building relationships that will support their academic and professional growth throughout the semester.
