Martha Collins

Martha Collins is a licensing artist, freelance illustrator, and teacher with over 30 years of experience. As a licensing artist, she collaborates with international clients worldwide to create award-winning collections in the home decor industry. Her art has been used on a wide variety of products including paper and ceramic tableware, pillows and throws, rugs, greeting cards, and yard décor. Her clients include Pier One, World Market, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Macy’s, Papyrus, Wild Bird International, Certified International, PBS, Paper Products Design, Manual Woodworkers, and Studio M. During her career as an illustrator, she worked with a range of clients including American Express, Disney, the Los Angeles Times, Mattel, and Universal Studios.
 
Martha has been a lecturer in the Illustration/Animation department for over 30 years, teaching courses such as Figures in Context, Watercolor Painting, and Illustration.  As a working artist, Martha knows from experience how important it is to help her students develop strong drawing and painting skills to gain confidence in their creative abilities and to instill in them a strong sense of professionalism. The goal for her students is to leave school ready, able, and enthusiastic to begin their careers in whichever creative field they choose.
