David Toyoshima

David Toyoshima is an award-winning, veteran advertising art director, copywriter, and creative director. In his thirty-five year career, David has worked at world-class agencies like Ketchum, Della Femina Travisano, Doyle Dane Bernbach, McCann Erickson, Foote Cone, and Belding and freelanced at many more. He was chief creative officer and ECD at IWGroup: agency of the year, two years in a row for the best in multi-cultural advertising. Over the years, his clients included major national and international brands like McDonald’s, Budweiser, Acura, Isuzu, VW, Saab, State Farm Insurance, Capital One Credit, General Mills, and the Los Angeles Dodgers, just to name a few. He worked hand-in-hand with McDonald’s for nearly twenty years. His Bud Light commercial was featured at the Super Bowl. Along with his writing partner, Robert Chandler, David helped win the U.S. Navy account for W.B. Doner. His work has been featured in Communication Arts and Print magazines.
As a writer, his work was spotlighted on NPR, National Public Radio, and is a regular contributor to Discover Nikkei, an online magazine for the Japanese American National Museum.
