Beomsik Shim

Beomsik Shim, a.k.a. Shimbe, is an award-winning filmmaker and media artist who has expanded his artistic domain to include various fields of art through film and animation. Shimbe majored in Fine Arts, and completed an MFA - Experimental Animation at CalArts. His major works include “Futurama” (20th Century Fox TV), “Mosquito” (Yeah Yeah Yeahs' music album art and videos), “Tiny Winter Circle” (LA County Art Commission/PBS TV), and “The Wonder Hospital” (an independent animated film). His films have shown at festivals around the world and have received multiple awards from South by South West, LA Film Fest, SIGGRAPH, Tokyo Media Art Festival, and Anima Brussels. He is currently working as a director at Chatrone Production and teaching at California State University Long Beach.
