Greater Los Angeles MFA exhibition (GLAMFA) coming to CSULB School of Art!
California State University, Long Beach is thrilled to announce the 21st annual Greater Los Angeles MFA Exhibition (GLAMFA), presented by the School of Art graduate students! This exhibition celebrates and showcases exceptional work by MFA students from graduate programs across Southern California. This year's show entitled, Gallus gallus, explores a collision of deep time with the speed of contemporary computation, revealing metaphors of biological evolution accelerated and rewritten through systems of language, data, and technological intervention.
GLAMFA is an entirely student-run endeavor that provides opportunities to connect with our broader MFA cohort. Through the central exhibition, affiliated events, and catalog publication, GLAMFA cultivates a community of emerging L.A.-based artists - stoking critical dialogue and lasting social camaraderie.
The Opening Reception will be on Saturday, January 17th from 5-7pm at the CSULB School of Art Galleries (situated between Fine Arts Building 3 and Fine Arts Building 4 near the Campus Art Store.) The exhibition is free and open to the public, and will run from January 17th through January 29th from 12 - 5pm (but will be closed on MLK Day - January 19.) Convenient paid parking is available in lots E7, E8, and G15.
