CSULB Art Alum Rhiannon Aarons’ MFA thesis included in upcoming book

CSULB Art Alum Rhiannon Aarons‘ MFA thesis, entitled Rabbit Hole: Remains of an Illegal Operation (2017) (which was a gallery show in the Gatov Gallery) will be included in the upcoming book RatedRX – Sheree Rose with and After Bob Flanagan. Edited by Betta Howard, the book is about Sheree Rose, the oft-overlooked partner of the late “supermasochist” performance artist Bob Flanagan, and it seeks to recuperate and showcase Rose’s contributions as performer, photographer, writer, and cultural innovator. Curated with attention to queer-crip subjectivities and transgressive feminisms, Rated RX includes essays by and interviews with collaborators with Ms. Rose, as well as scholars and artists (of which Ms. Aarons’ efforts within count for all three: fellow collaborator, scholar, and artist.) On December 9, 2020 from 5-6:30pm there will be an online conversation with editor Yetta Howard with the artist Sheree Rose, Ms. Aarons and other book contributors through the University of Southern California.

Congratulations Ms. Aarons!
