Kathryn Boyd-Batstone is a director and cinematographer of narrative and documentary films in the Los Angeles area. Most recently, she DPed the short film “ Fathead," which was made in partnership with Amazon, Narwhal Studion, and the ETC. Fathead was the first ever film shot on Amazon’s 260-degree XR stage. It went on to win Gold at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival - Emerging Filmmaker and received an NAACP Nomination. Her film For Rosa, a fictional film inspired by the Madrigal Ten, a group of women who were ten of many Latina immigrants sterilized without consent while giving birth at Los Angeles County USC Medical Center during the 1970s, premiered on HBO MAX May 2021. Her work as a photojournalist has been published in CNN, The San Francisco Chronicle, National Public Radio, The Washington Post, and USA Today.  With years of dual immersion Spanish bilingual education, she is dedicated to helping tell stories that make you feel and push for change.
