New HRM Scholarship established

Great New HRM Scholarship opportunity 

The Human Resources Advisory Board announced the creation of scholarships with the goal of supporting College of Business students that are pursuing a degree in Human Resource Management (HRM).

Awardees for 2020:

  • Vanessa Franco 
  • Melissa Valencia Damian, President of HRMA student chapter

One award is for $5,000 and the other is for $2,500. The deadline to apply is 9/30/2021.  Students will have received notices from the College of Business and from the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office with information on how to apply.  The criteria for the scholarships are:

  • Be an undergraduate HRM major or HRM minor
  • Be a current part-time or full-time student
  • Have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or better
  • Have a junior or senior standing
  • Have taken, or currently be enrolled in, at least one HRM functional course beyond HRM 360 and HRM 361 (e.g. HRM 300- or 400- level course)\

Submit essay responses to each of the following topics:

•Any  paid or volunteer experience
•How you could apply your experience to an HR career
•Your goals and aspirations within Human Resources
•How this scholarship will contribute to your educational and career goals

Please note that this scholarship does not focus on financial need
