Calling all Graduate Business, MPH, and MPA Students,
Are you interested in launching a career in local government, public administration, or public-sector leadership? Graduate Business Career Services invites you to attend an upcoming City of Long Beach Virtual Information Session, with an optional City Hall Site Visit, focused on the City’s highly regarded Management Assistant Program (MAP).
The Management Assistant Program is a competitive, rotational leadership program designed for early-career graduate students who want to apply their business, analytical, public administration, public health, and management skills to meaningful public-sector work.
Why learn more about the Management Assistant Program?
Through MAP, participants gain hands-on experience and exposure to how a major city operates from the inside out:
• Rotational leadership experience: Work across multiple departments and develop a comprehensive understanding of city operations, strategy, and service delivery.
• Executive-level exposure & mentorship: Collaborate with City leadership, receive guidance from senior managers, and build a strong professional network within local government.
• High-impact project work: Contribute to real initiatives that support public services, community development, policy implementation, and citywide operations.
The knowledge and experience gained through the Management Assistant Program prepares graduate students to contribute to citywide initiatives such as Grow Long Beach and Elevate 28, supporting a city focused on momentum, innovation, and long-term community impact.
